Rambla Nova

While you're in Tarragona, it's essential to spend some time on Rambla Nova, the main street of the city. It's home to the city hall, the Via T Tarragona shopping district, and the famous Castellers Monument. If you're in town during the summer, you can enjoy the city's famous festivities - including the traditional "Castells" celebration.

Roman ruins

When visiting Tarragona, you should check out its Roman ruins. You can easily find them in the medieval center, which is filled with narrow cobbled streets and shady plazas. These places are perfect for strolling and taking in the city's atmosphere.

Catamaran tour

A Catamaran tour is one of the most enjoyable activities that you can enjoy in Tarragona. This activity is a great way to see the city and its surroundings in a whole new way. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery while watching dolphins and other marine life. You can also go on a day trip to other towns and cities nearby, if you wish to. This type of excursion is not expensive and it will provide you with great experiences.

Tarragona

Beaches

If you're planning a trip to Catalonia or eastern Spain, consider Tarragona. This city is situated on the Mediterranean Sea and borders the provinces of Castellón, Teruel, Zaragoza, Lérida, and Barcelona.

House museums

Tarragona is home to the oldest museum in Catalonia, the National Archaeological Museum, which was founded in the first half of the 19th century. It features exhibits that cover eight centuries of Tarraco history. The museum is also home to the Ivory Doll, which is an enigmatic figurine from the third or fourth centuries AD that was discovered in a girl's tomb in the city's Early Christian Necropolis. The doll was dressed in clothing similar to that worn by both children and adults at the time.

City tours in Tarragona

Tarragona is a Spanish port city in the northeast region. Once a Roman colony, the city has many relics from its past. You can visit the Amfiteatre Romà, a 2nd century arena, and the Necropolis, a cemetery of Roman tombs. The medieval Old Town also has some Roman relics, including the Passeig Arqueolgic, a walkway along the ramparts.

When it comes to shopping, Tarragona's central market hall, the Mercat de Tarragona, is a must-see. The market hall is among the cleanest in the region, and you can browse stalls with fresh seafood, cured meats, olives, and sushi. There are also plenty of coffee places and sweet stands.

Amfiteatre Romà

Aside from the historic center, you can also check out the city's cathedral and other sites. The cathedral is a spectacular building, and was built on the site of a 10th century Moorish mosque. This magnificent structure is an impressive blend of Gothic and Roman styles. After the Reconquista, the cathedral became a Catholic cathedral.

Most tours cost around EUR 89 for adults and EUR 66 for children. They are full-day excursions with multiple stops and a licensed tour guide. Some tours run multiple days a week, while others only operate on a few days. If you're interested in booking a tour in Tarragona, it's best to book in advance.
