Caminito del Rey

Located in southern Spain, Caminito del Rey is one of the most famous natural wonders of Malaga. It is an aerial path that is suspended more than 100 metres above a gorge. It was constructed in the early 20th century to transport materials between hydroelectric power plants. It is also a great place to see a variety of animal and plant species.

Caminito del Rey Malaga

Depending on how much time you have, there are a number of ways to get to the site. The quickest and easiest way is by car. It is also possible to take a bus. The shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes during the day. Alternatively, you can book a guided tour. There are also options for camping.

Caminito del Rey can be reached by car from El Chorro, 50 km away from Malaga. The quickest and easiest way is to take the A-357 road from Malaga. The road winds through picturesque landscapes and passes by Ardales. You can then exit at El Chorro and make your way to the entrance of the trail. There is limited parking. If you do not want to walk, you can park your car at the El Kisko restaurant and take the shuttle to the trailhead.

The entrance of Caminito del Rey is open from 8:00 pm in the summer and from 8:30 am in the winter. The ticket for the trail costs 10 EUR. If you plan to hike the trail on your own, you can get a helmet from the staff.
