Hoan Kiem Lake

Located in the center of Hanoi, Hoan Kiem Lake is a freshwater lake. It is 12 hectares in size and has an average depth of 1 to 1.4 metres. The water is usually light and green in color and contains various strains of algae. It is also home to a number of tortoises.

The lake is considered to be a sacred site to many Vietnamese people. It was originally known as Luc Thuy Lake, but was later changed to Hoan Kiem Lake. The name "Hoan Kiem" means "Lake of the Restored Sword" in Vietnamese. This lake has several buildings that look like pagodas. One of these buildings is the Temple of King Le. This temple is located on the northern side of the lake.

Hoan Kiem Lake Vietnam

In the middle of the lake, there is a small islet. The small islet is home to a tower. The tower is a relic of the Bao An pagoda. The tower was built between the middle of 1884 and April 1886. It is a classically designed structure.

Another interesting feature of the lake is the Temple of the Jade Mountain. This temple was built in the 18th century and is located on the Jade Island. It contains ancient artifacts. It was originally built to worship Buddha. It also contains several large soft-shell turtles, which are endangered. The temple was later rebuilt to its original form.

Another important landmark of the lake is the Turtle Tower. The tower is built on the same site as the Ta Vong Temple, but is not built in Vietnamese style. Instead, it is influenced by French architecture. It has four floors, and is a rectangle-shaped structure. The first floor is 6.28 metres long and 4.54 metres wide. The second floor is a rectangle-shaped structure and the third floor is a rounded structure.

The Turtle Tower is a symbol of patriotism and unity among Vietnamese people. It is also a landmark of the Hoan Kiem lake. It was constructed in harmony with nature, and is a good spot to take a picture of the lake. The tower is also a great place to see birds and other wildlife. It is also a good place to practice tai chi.

Another interesting feature of the lake is Ngoc Island. The island has two temples. One temple is on the island, while the other is on a small islet. The temples are built in the style of Northern Vietnam. They are both accessible via the famous Huc Bridge.

The Hoan Kiem lake is always crowded. It is a popular spot for tourists and locals to relax and spend time. It is best to visit the lake early in the morning. You can also enjoy the beautiful night sky on the lake. Many young people also come to the lake to enjoy the beauty of the lake and to practice tai chi. They often make friends with international tourists.

Another amazing feature of the lake is the emerald green water. The water changes color depending on the reflection of the sky. There are many strains of green algae in the water, which is considered to be rare.
