It has plenty of watersports

Watersports are a popular way to spend your vacation in Cefal. You can go sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, or snorkeling. You can also sign up for a day trip to the Aeolian Islands or the nearby sea caves. Watersports are also great ways to stay fit and make new friends.

In addition to scuba diving and snorkeling, you can take part in water sports with teams. These activities are competitive, but also fun, and they give you an opportunity to meet new people. One of the most popular team water sports is water polo. It's similar to rugby football, but is played in the water. The goal is to knock a negatively buoyant ball into the other team's goal.

It has a cathedral

The cathedral in Cefalu was built by King Ruggero II of Sicily. The king had made a vow to his savior when he was stranded on the sea during his journey from Naples to Palermo. Ruggero later disembarked at Cefalu, and later built the cathedral in honor of his savior. This cathedral has rectangular towers and a mosaic of Christ Pantocrator in Byzantine style.

The cathedral's façade is dominated by an arched portal, or Porta Regum, flanked by wall paintings. The interior is divided into two aisles and a nave, on a Latin cross plan. The aisles and nave are separated by arcades with antique columns. The columns are made of pink granite, and the capitals and bases date from the 2nd century AD.

It has a harbour

The town of Cefalu is famous for its harbour. This sheltered bay is surrounded by a long breakwater that runs ESE from the shore. The harbour entry is five to six metres deep. There are a few rocks in the southern part of the harbour. The town is home to a number of historic buildings.

The harbor of Cefalu is near Palermo. It features crooked houses in the typical waterfront architecture. The boats moor on pontoons that extend out from shore. There are around 300 berths available on laid moorings. Some are reserved for yachts in transit.

It has a cinema

Cefalu is an old fishing village on Sicily's northern coast with a beautiful beach and narrow medieval streets. It was the location of the Oscar-winning film Cinema Paradiso and is a fantastic place for a slower pace of life. The historic center of Cefalu is home to the cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site dating from the 12th century with elaborate Byzantine mosaics. You can also visit the Madralisca Museum to see artifacts from the region.

The town has an imposing limestone headland overlooking the harbor. Its cinema is located in the Porta Marina, which was once the city's only gate. The theatre is located on the Molo Vecchio and is mostly attended by locals.
