Top-10 places to visit in Zimbabwe

When planning a vacation in Zimbabwe, you'll find that there are many different ways to see this beautiful country. Whether you want to learn about the rich history of the Chobe National Park or get a better perspective of the Victoria Falls, a guided tour is a great way to get started.

Chobe National Park

One of the best ways to experience the wildlife of Chobe is to take a guided tour. Chobe is home to a unique and diverse array of animals. From lions to blue wildebeests, zebras and impalas are just some of the creatures you can see here. Chobe is also home to hyenas, spotted hyenas, and warthogs.

Chobe National Park is the ideal destination for safaris because of its abundance of animals and birds. In particular, it is home to one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Africa. Chobe has 120 000 elephants roaming freely and high concentrations along the Chobe river.

During a Chobe Day Trip, you can enjoy a boat trip on the Chobe River, a land-based safari and a game drive. You can also spot big cats and elephants during the safari. You can also end your trip by visiting the Victoria Falls.

Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park is situated in northwest Botswana. It has one of the largest game concentrations in Africa and offers an unparalleled opportunity to view all the major game species. Chobe is also the first national park in the country. Chobe National Park tours leave from Kazungula border station every morning. The first part of the day includes a morning game viewing cruise, which ends around 12:30. After the safari, clients are taken to a lodge for lunch.

Chobe River Lodge offers a convenient location near the park. The lodge offers comfortable en-suite rooms with bath and shower facilities, tea and coffee facilities, satellite TV, and a private patio. The lodge has a restaurant that serves traditional African cuisine. The lodge also has a swimming pool and a bar with spectacular views.

Victoria Falls

One of the most special things to do in Victoria Falls is to spend a night in a Victorian-style hotel. This historic building represents the golden age of African travel, and has been lovingly restored. It is the definition of grand luxury. Here, you can enjoy a hearty breakfast with panoramic views of the waterfalls.

This secluded setting is perfect for a family vacation. A Victoria Falls cruise offers a unique view of the spectacular Falls, which are home to hippo, crocodile, and elephant herds. The scenery is magical, and the knowledgeable boat captain points out wildlife and tells interesting stories. Guests will also enjoy complimentary light snacks and sundowner beverages on board.

Victoria Falls

A Victoria Falls tour may also include viewing the lunar rainbow, also known as the moonbow. The rainbow occurs when the full moon hits the mist from the falls. This occurs approximately three times a month during high water season, between January and May. It is the Zimbabwean equivalent of the Northern Lights.

Zimbabwe's climate is almost perfect year-round, with the exception of the rainy season from December to April. However, you should still take anti-malaria precautions as this area is prone to malaria. While the climate is pleasant all year-round, a rainy week or two can dampen the excitement of a Victoria Falls tour package.
