Experience Lviv like an insider

Whether you're looking for a relaxing retreat, an educational experience, or an opportunity to explore the history of the city, there are plenty of things to do in Lviv. It's an easy city to explore. The best times to visit are in the shoulder seasons of spring and summer, when the weather is mild. Lviv is also home to several picturesque parks, including the Stryiskyi Park. It's a large park and can be reached on public transport. The park is open around the clock, making it easy to visit during the day. It's also a favourite among locals.

Maria Zankovetska Drama Theatre

For a different view of the city, visit the Observation Deck at the town hall building. The tower contains a 360 deg view of the city's historic centre. There are approximately 300 steps to the top, but it's easy to climb in the morning when the temperature isn't too hot. You can also visit the Tourist Information Center.

Lviv is known for its great coffee, and the city has several cafes that serve up amazing drinks. One of the best is the Chocolate Factory, which offers treats and souvenirs. Alternatively, try the Gas Lamp, which serves drinks in colorful test tubes. Both restaurants have their own unique style. Aside from serving delicious drinks, the Gas Lamp also has tables decorated with kerosene lamps and other old-fashioned objects.

Lviv is also home to the Armenian Cathedral, which was a popular filming location in the Soviet Union. The frescoes are over 600 years old and feature architecture from the Medieval Ages. It's also home to 11 paintings by famous Polish artist Jan Matejko.

Another excellent example of Lviv's brutalism is the Stryiska Bus Station. Built in the neo-baroque style, the building was used by the Diet of Galicia and Lodomeria. It's located just outside of the Old Town. This spot is also home to the Centre for Culture and Creativity for Children and Youth.

Another interesting place to visit in Lviv is the Lychakiv Cemetery, which was founded in the early 16th century. The cemetery is home to military leaders, scientists, composers, and other prominent people. The cemetery also features cool tombstones.

The High Castle is a ruined castle located near the Old Town. It was used as a defensive fortress. The hill overlooking the city is a great place for a stroll. It's a short walk from most places in the city center. The hill is dotted with forests, so the area offers plenty of green space to explore.

Other notable places to visit in Lviv are the Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life, which is located near the High Castle. It's open 24 hours, and features a collection of folk art.

Shevchenkivskyi Hai Park Museum

The Armenian Cathedral is also a must-see, as it features a unique interior and architectural style. It's one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. You can also visit the Museum of the History of Lviv and the Lviv Polytechnic, which was built in 1843.
